Mom's Group!

Every Wednesday afternoon the mom's of the church have been meeting at different parks in Maastricht. We have been having a good time discovering all the great parks in the city!

Sela on the swing for the first time! She didn't want to get off :)
Kees with his buddies. The little boy is Joshua. Joshua and his family are also from America helping with the church.
 Kees at the water pump.
Someone is still on the swing!
I love this face Sela makes...she is becoming a little character!

The have a great old fort that Kees enjoyed getting to explore.

playing on the truck
Waiting for the bus...this was my first attempt at taking two kiddos on the bus. After finding out we were waiting at the wrong stop for 30 minutes I was getting tired and Sela was getting hungry. I looked at Kees and he just said, "Mom, this is an adventure!" It really hit me what Kees said. I decided I wasn't going to be stressed out and frustrated but just enjoy the adventure. Such an awesome little boy I have!
We made it to the park! :)

Yummy!

Sela just started saying, "Uh oh!" when she drops something on the floor! She keeps us all laughing at dinner time! She likes to get messy when she eats so I put her right in bath after she is done.

 Sela thinking...
Goofy girl at the dinner table. :)
Sela is learning sign language for 'more' and 'all done.' I think it must be frustrating to not be able to tell what you want or need so signing really helps! Here is Sela asking for "More."

Shaving

Kees got the chance to give Papa a shave. No more beard for Steve...

Sunshine!

The weather has finally been nice enough to sit outside! Kees loves to sit outside to eat. He said to Steve the other day while walking out into the sunshine, "Nice winter day." He wanted to wear his snow boots outside but I had to tell him that it was warm outside!!

Kikker in de Bibliotheek!

'Kikker' is a famous Dutch children's book here in Holland. This month the story has come to life at the library. We love the library! Maastricht library always has something fun going on. Here is Kees headed into Kikker's house.
 "Comfy!"-Kees
Kees hanging apples on the tree.
You can see the library is right in the center of the city...we can even see it from our apartment.
 Kikker's birthday cake.
During the week a Kikker book is read to the children from this stage. Kikker is always on an adventure with his good friends.

Some pictures from the stories. Kikker is such a refreshing old fashioned story book!

Epen, Netherlands

Living in the center of the city has been an adjustment for me. I love that I can walk across the street to the grocery store and walk to Kees' school but I have the longing to get out in the country side every
now and then.
Steve found this little country road side fruit stand in Epen. Epen is beautiful! The best part of this fruit stand is they serve ice cream topped with fresh fruit.
 Fresh fruit,jam,honey...and coke...ha!
 We tried some gooseberries...
They were really sour but Kees didn't mind. "These are interesting!"- Kees

Then on the way home we pass it...the cutest home I have ever seen! It looks like the March sisters of Little Women could come walking out the front door at any moment. I could just see living here riding in a horse drawn carriage and having afternoon tea with scones...I'm pretty sure I was born in the wrong time era!

Sunny Sunday!

We have finally had some sun here in Maastricht. It was a beautiful morning so Steve and Kees rode their bikes to church. Here they are on the bridge crossing the river to church.
The city view along the river.
Where you see the orange balls is the building where the church has been meeting.
 Kees playing, 'Duck, Duck, Goose'
Getting to play outside in the sun!
